A farmer in Castellon, Spain cut off his own hand in an attempt to scam multiple insurance companies. 42 year-old Miguel was sentenced to 4 years in prison and ordered to repay 335,000 euros in insurance money. Miguel was so behind on his mortgage that he thought to cut off his hand with a sharp blade and drive his car into a ditch next to an orange grove. After calling emergency services, Miguel was found sitting by his car smoking a cigar. The investigation, however, discovered his guilt and he was found guilty of fraud.

Zurich Insurance Group chose to establish its global data center in Barcelona. This center will create 200 jobs to be added to the already 250 positions that the company currently has in Barcelona. A start date on this new project has yet to be determined, but they expect it to take 2 years to put together. Spain CEO Vicente Cancio tweeted “Barcelona has all the traits to unite talent from all of Europe.”
